Where To Watch The Wheel of Time — Season 2

After the events of Season 1, the young heroes of the Two Rivers are no longer simply villagers running from danger. Rand al'Thor has discovered that he is the Dragon Reborn, the legendary figure whose return is connected to the coming battle between the Light and the Dark. However, Rand deliberately separates himself from his friends because he fears that the power within him could eventually hurt or destroy them. Meanwhile, Moiraine Damodred has lost her ability to channel the One Power, leaving the Aes Sedai who once seemed almost unstoppable in an unexpectedly vulnerable position. Her relationship with Lan Mandragoran becomes strained as both struggle to understand what happened to them. Egwene al'Vere and Nynaeve al'Meara begin their training among the Aes Sedai, discovering that mastering the One Power requires far more than raw ability. Perrin Aybara continues searching for answers while being drawn into a much larger conflict, and Mat Cauthon finds himself dealing with the consequences of the events of Season 1.

eason 2 was an important turning point for The Wheel of Time because the characters were no longer traveling together as they did during much of the first season. The story deliberately splits Rand, Perrin, Egwene, Nynaeve, Mat and Moiraine into different storylines, allowing the show to explore more of the world and develop individual characters. Prime Video’s official material describes the characters as being scattered across the world while Moiraine, now unable to access the One Power, searches for another source of strength.

One of the biggest changes behind the scenes was the recasting of Mat Cauthon. Dónal Finn took over the role from Barney Harris, who played Mat in Season 1. Rather than ignoring the character, Season 2 continued Mat’s storyline with the new actor. The recasting was particularly noticeable because Mat is one of the five central characters from the original books.
