Where To Watch Divergent (2014)

Set in a futuristic version of Chicago, Divergent follows Beatrice “Tris” Prior, a teenager living in a society divided into five factions based on human virtues: Abnegation, Dauntless, Erudite, Amity and Candor. When Tris discovers that she is “Divergent”—someone who cannot be neatly controlled by the faction system—she realizes that her identity could make her a threat to those in power. Choosing the fearless Dauntless faction, Tris enters a brutal initiation where she faces physical challenges, psychological fears and dangerous rivals such as Peter and Eric. Along the way, she develops a complicated relationship with her mysterious instructor Four, while Jeanine Matthews, the ambitious leader of Erudite, begins pursuing a plan that could destroy the existing balance of society. The film combines dystopian science fiction, action, romance and coming-of-age themes, with Tris gradually learning that being different may be her greatest strength.

More details about Divergent (2014) and where you can watch

One of the most surprising production facts is that Theo James performed his own fight stunts without a stunt double. Another memorable moment happened when Tris punches Peter in the throat: the sound Miles Teller makes is reportedly genuine because Woodley unexpectedly hit him harder during one take, and that take was used in the movie.

Kate Winslet was five months pregnant during filming. Production worked around her pregnancy by primarily filming her above the waist and sometimes having her carry folders, files or iPads. She was only on set for about four weeks.

Did You Know

Shailene Woodley was reportedly the only actress considered for the role of Tris—no other actresses auditioned for the part. Another interesting casting twist involves Miles Teller: he originally auditioned for Four, but eventually ended up playing Peter after producers were impressed by his performance in The Spectacular Now.
