Years after killing Jason, Tommy Jarvis remains haunted by fear that the killer could return. Determined to put his trauma to rest, Tommy exhumes Jason’s grave to cremate the body. During a storm, a metal fence post strikes Jason’s corpse, accidentally resurrecting him with supernatural power. Jason returns to Camp Crystal Lake, slaughtering counselors, paintball players, and locals with unstoppable fury. Tommy teams up with sheriff Megan Garris and her father to stop Jason once and for all. Using a plan involving chains and a lake trap, Jason is temporarily defeated. The film ends with Jason trapped underwater, eyes open suggesting evil can never truly die.
