Where To Watch Hoodwinked!

Hoodwinked! is a 2005 American animated musical comedy that cleverly reimagines the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale as a humorous and twisty police investigation. Instead of a straightforward retelling, the film uses a non-linear storytelling approach, letting characters recount different perspectives of the same events, much like a mystery case. With an ensemble voice cast including Anne Hathaway, Glenn Close, Jim Belushi, Patrick Warburton, and Anthony Anderson, the movie blends comedy, adventure, and family-friendly themes. Made on a modest budget but achieving major box office success, Hoodwinked! became a standout animated feature that achieved cult status despite its quirky animation style.

Released in limited theaters on December 16, 2005 and widely on January 13, 2006, the movie invites audiences into a fractured fairy tale where the police investigate a disturbance at Granny’s cottage. As Detective Bill Stork and Chief Grizzly interview Little Red Riding Hood, the Wolf, the Woodsman, and Granny herself, each character’s version reveals surprising twists, uncovering deeper motives and hidden truths. Despite mixed critical reception due to its animation quality, the clever script, sharp humor, and strong voice performances helped the film gross $110 million worldwide on an $8 million budget. The story’s fresh take and engaging mystery made it a beloved animated adventure.
