I Believe in Unicorns centers on Davina, a shy and imaginative high school student whose life feels small and suffocating. Her relationship with her emotionally distant mother and absent father leaves her longing for connection. When she meets Sterling, a free-spirited teenage skater, Davina experiences her first intense romantic love and belief in something magical. As their connection deepens, Davina begins to escape into fantasies of fairy tales and unicorns, using them to cope with her internal pain and uncertainty.
