Sully (2016) is a biographical drama directed by Clint Eastwood that dramatizes the extraordinary story of Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger and US Airways Flight 1549. On January 15, 2009, Sully and his co-pilot Jeff Skiles faced an emergency shortly after takeoff from New York when the aircraft struck a flock of birds and lost engine power. With very little time to react, Sully made the decision to land the disabled Airbus A320 on the Hudson River, allowing all 155 people aboard to survive. The film, led by Tom Hanks as Sully, focuses not only on the emergency landing but also on the investigation that followed.
