Where To Watch Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018)

Five years after the events of Mamma Mia!, Sophie Sheridan returns to the beautiful island of Kalokairi to reopen the Hotel Bella Donna in memory of her late mother, Donna. While preparing for the grand celebration, Sophie begins discovering untold stories from Donna’s younger years, leading the movie into emotional flashbacks filled with romance, friendship, heartbreak, and ABBA music. Lily James shines as young Donna, showing her adventurous journey across Europe where she meets young Sam, Harry, and Bill — the three men who later become part of Sophie’s complicated family story. Amanda Seyfried returns as Sophie, trying to balance marriage, pregnancy, and her mother’s legacy while reconnecting with the people Donna loved most. The film blends two timelines together with colorful musical performances, emotional family moments, and iconic ABBA songs like “Fernando,” “Dancing Queen,” and “Mamma Mia.” The addition of Cher as Ruby Sheridan brings extra glamour and energy to the story, making the sequel even bigger and more emotional than the original movie.

More details about Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) and where you can watch

The movie was filmed mainly in Croatia instead of Greece, even though it still represents the fictional Greek island of Kalokairi. Lily James received huge praise from fans because many viewers felt she perfectly captured Meryl Streep’s younger personality and energy. Cher joined the cast very late in production, but her performance of “Fernando” quickly became one of the film’s most memorable moments. Surprisingly, the sequel received much better reviews from critics than the first movie and became one of the rare musical sequels to improve its Rotten Tomatoes score significantly.

Another hidden detail is that ABBA legends Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus once again appeared in cameo roles during the movie. The film also mixes prequel and sequel storytelling together, showing Donna’s past while continuing Sophie’s emotional journey in the present day.
