In the 2000 version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the cynical and misanthropic Grinch played by Jim Carrey despises Christmas and the joyful Whos of Whoville. Tired of their festive celebrations, he hatches a plan: on Christmas Eve, he will descend to Whoville with his loyal dog Max, and steal every decoration, gift, tree, and carol aiming to ruin Christmas forever. But things change when he crosses paths with the innocent, warm-hearted child Cindy Lou Who. Her kindness and belief in the spirit of Christmas slowly melt his icy heart. Through humor, chaos, and heart-warming moments, the film shows how even the coldest heart can change when touched by generosity, empathy and love.
