In Extracted, scientist Tom (Sasha Roiz) develops innovative equipment that allows a person to enter and view another’s subconscious memories. In need of funding, he reluctantly agrees to a demonstration arranged by a government official who sees potential to use the technology in criminal investigations. The test subject is Anthony, a convict accused of murder. As Tom explores Anthony’s mind to uncover the truth, a machine malfunction traps his consciousness inside Anthony’s memories. Unable to return to his own body, which lies in a coma, Tom endures years observing Anthony’s past and disintegrating memories. When Tom finally manages to communicate from within a specific memory, the two form an uneasy alliance to piece together truth and escape. The result is an introspective sci-fi thriller that blends mind-bending narrative with emotional depth.
