Set years after the events of Airplane!, the sequel follows Ted Striker, now released from an asylum, as he boards a commercial space shuttle named Mayflower One to reunite with Elaine Dickinson. As the spacecraft veers off course toward the sun, government officials, scientists, and passengers respond with increasing stupidity and chaos.
