Gachiakuta takes place in a world where the wealthy live in a clean floating city while the poor survive in dangerous slums. Rudo, an orphan raised by his guardian Regto, makes a living collecting and repairing trash that the upper city throws away. His life changes forever when Regto is murdered and Rudo is falsely blamed for the crime. As punishment, he is thrown into the Abyss—a massive wasteland made of garbage and monstrous creatures formed from discarded objects. In this brutal environment, Rudo discovers a special ability that allows him to awaken the power within certain objects. With the help of a group known as the Cleaners, he begins fighting monsters and searching for the truth behind the conspiracy that destroyed his life.
