In Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Jason Voorhees is presumed dead after the events of Part III but soon awakens in a morgue and resumes his rampage. He returns to the woods near Crystal Lake, targeting a group of carefree teens renting a nearby house. At the same time, siblings Trish and Tommy Jarvis move into a neighboring home, unaware of the danger lurking nearby. As Jason kills his victims one by one, young Tommy’s fascination with masks and horror movies becomes crucial to stopping the killer. In a tense and emotional climax, Jason is finally defeated in a shocking and violent confrontation. The film delivers what was intended to be Jason’s ultimate demise.

This film was genuinely meant to kill Jason permanently, and actor Ted White (who played Jason) reportedly disliked the violence so much that he refused to perform certain kills. Despite the “final” title, the franchise returned just one year later due to massive fan demand and box-office success.
