Where To Watch Big Stan (2007)

Big Stan follows Stan Minton (Rob Schneider), a nervous and dishonest real-estate con artist whose comfortable life collapses after he is convicted of fraud. Terrified by the thought of surviving prison, Stan seeks out an eccentric and mysterious martial-arts master (David Carradine) and begins an intense, unconventional period of training. What starts as a selfish attempt to protect himself gradually turns Stan into a surprisingly influential figure behind bars. Inside prison, he encounters characters such as the intimidating Big Raymond (Bob Sapp), the dangerous Bullard (Kevin Gage), and Warden Gasque (Scott Wilson), while his relationship with his wife Mindy (Jennifer Morrison) gives the story an emotional connection outside the prison walls. As Stan becomes more confident, he discovers that physical strength is not the only thing that matters—leadership, loyalty and standing up for others can be just as powerful.

More details about Big Stan (2007) and where you can watch

Big Stan was particularly notable because it marked Rob Schneider’s directorial debut. Schneider also stars as the central character and was involved as a producer.

The film has an unusually large collection of martial-arts and combat-sports talent among its cast and stunt personnel. Names connected to the production include David Carradine, Randy Couture, Don Frye, Dan Inosanto and Simon Rhee, giving the comedy considerably more martial-arts pedigree than a typical slapstick film.

Another interesting detail is the combination of comedy actors and genuine combat-sports personalities. Bob Sapp, for example, plays Big Raymond, while UFC heavyweight Randy Couture appears as Carnahan.

Big Stan brings together two very different martial-arts worlds through David Carradine and Dan Inosanto. Carradine became internationally associated with martial-arts cinema through Kung Fu and later Kill Bill, while Inosanto is a renowned martial-arts instructor and was closely associated with Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do tradition.
