Where To Watch Fury (2014)

Set during the final days of World War II in April 1945, Fury follows battle-hardened U.S. Army Sergeant Don “Wardaddy” Collier, played by Brad Pitt, and his five-man Sherman tank crew as they fight their way through Nazi Germany. Their tank, named Fury, becomes both their weapon and their home as they face increasingly desperate combat situations. The crew includes Boyd “Bible” Swan (Shia LaBeouf), Trini “Gordo” Garcia (Michael Peña), Grady “Coon-Ass” Travis (Jon Bernthal), and young replacement soldier Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman). Norman is inexperienced and initially struggles with the brutal reality of combat, forcing Wardaddy to transform him from a frightened typist into a soldier capable of surviving the battlefield. As the Allied advance continues, the crew encounters German resistance that becomes increasingly dangerous. The film explores the psychological effects of prolonged warfare, loyalty between soldiers, survival, and the difficult choices made during combat.

More details about Fury (2014) and where you can watch

One of the biggest attractions of Fury is its commitment to authentic military hardware. The production used real World War II-era tanks, including Tiger 131, a historic Tiger I tank from The Tank Museum at Bovington in England. Tiger 131 is particularly significant because it is widely described as the world’s only surviving operational Tiger I.

The Sherman tank used as Fury was also a real period vehicle rather than simply a computer-generated tank. The filmmakers used several authentic Sherman tanks during production.

The actors also went through intensive military-style preparation. According to production trivia, the cast underwent a month-long training course, including working with a real tank during a combat exercise.

Did You Know

Fury was not adapted from a novel or a specific historical battle. However, director David Ayer researched the experiences of real World War II tank crews. One notable influence was Belton Y. Cooper’s memoir Death Traps: The Survival of an American Armored Division in World War II, a book about American armored warfare and the heavy losses suffered by tank crews.
