Where To Watch Eastbound & Down – Season 1

Eastbound & Down Season 1 follows Kenny Powers (Danny McBride), a former Major League Baseball pitcher whose once-promising career has collapsed because of his arrogance, reckless behavior and declining performance. After being forced back to his hometown in North Carolina, Kenny moves in with his brother Dustin Powers (John Hawkes) and takes a job as a substitute physical education teacher at the middle school he once attended. Rather than accepting his new ordinary life, Kenny remains convinced that he is destined for baseball greatness. He attempts to rebuild his reputation through publicity appearances, memorabilia sales and increasingly ridiculous schemes while maintaining his larger-than-life ego. His relationships with his former love April Buchanon (Katy Mixon), devoted admirer Stevie Janowski (Steve Little), brother Dustin and other people in town expose a more vulnerable side of the notoriously obnoxious athlete.

More details about Eastbound & Down – Season 1 and where you can watch

Eastbound & Down Season 1 is notable for introducing Kenny Powers, one of television comedy’s most outrageous antiheroes. Kenny is a former professional baseball pitcher who refuses to accept that his career has collapsed. His exaggerated confidence, inappropriate behavior and obsession with his former fame create much of the show’s humor, while the story also gives viewers glimpses of his insecurity and loneliness.

Season 1 contains only 6 episodes, making it a short but tightly focused introduction to Kenny’s world. Instead of stretching the story across a large number of episodes, the season follows Kenny’s return to North Carolina and his increasingly desperate attempts to rebuild his reputation. His temporary job as a physical education teacher creates an amusing contrast between the glamorous life he remembers and the ordinary life he is forced to live.
