Where To Watch Kraven the Hunter

Kraven the Hunter is a violent, action-driven Marvel origin story centered on Sergei Kravinoff, a man who grows from the troubled son of a ruthless Russian gangster into an extraordinarily dangerous hunter. After a traumatic encounter with a lion leaves Sergei near death, a mysterious intervention gives him abilities that dramatically change his relationship with the natural world. Years later, Sergei—now known as Kraven—uses his extraordinary strength, speed, instincts and hunting skills against poachers, criminals and other dangerous adversaries. At the heart of the story is Kraven's complicated relationship with his father Nikolai Kravinoff, played by Russell Crowe. His family story also brings in his half-brother Dmitri Kravinoff, who eventually becomes the villainous Chameleon, while Calypso Ezili, played by Ariana DeBose, becomes an important figure in Kraven's journey. The film also introduces Aleksei Sytsevich, better known to Marvel fans as Rhino, and The Foreigner, played by Christopher Abbott. Rather than presenting Kraven as a traditional superhero, the movie explores the origins of one of Marvel's most famous Spider-Man adversaries and shows how his obsession with hunting, survival and becoming the ultimate predator develops.

More details about Kraven the Hunter and where you can watch

One of the most interesting aspects of the film is that Kraven is not a conventional superhero. Sony presented the movie as a standalone origin story about how one of Marvel’s iconic villains became the hunter audiences know from the comics. The film was also released with an R rating in the United States for strong bloody violence and language, making it considerably more violent in tone than many traditional superhero movies.

The movie has several characters with strong connections to Spider-Man’s comic-book mythology. Dmitri Kravinoff becomes Chameleon, while Aleksei Sytsevich becomes Rhino. Interestingly, the film tells Kraven’s story without making Spider-Man the central character.

Another unusual detail is that the production filmed scenes in Trabzon, Turkey, including the famous Sumela Monastery location.
