Where To Watch The Wild Robot

The Wild Robot follows ROZZUM unit 7134, affectionately called Roz, an intelligent robot who becomes stranded on a remote, uninhabited island after a shipwreck. Designed to serve humans, Roz initially has no idea how to survive in a world ruled by wild animals. Her journey changes when she accidentally becomes the protector and adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill. With help from the clever fox Fink, the wise goose Longneck, and other island animals, Roz slowly learns that survival isn't simply about following programming—it is about cooperation, compassion and forming unexpected bonds. As Brightbill grows, Roz becomes part of the island's ecosystem while confronting the technology that originally created her. The film blends spectacular animation with an emotional story about parenthood, belonging, nature, artificial intelligence and what it really means to be alive.

More details about The Wild Robot and where you can watch

One of the most interesting aspects of The Wild Robot is that it is an adaptation of Peter Brown’s 2016 illustrated middle-grade novel. The success of the book eventually led to a trilogy, including The Wild Robot Escapes and The Wild Robot Protects. The movie was written and directed by Chris Sanders, whose previous work includes Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods.

The film also has an unusually strong voice cast for an animated family movie, featuring Lupita Nyong’o, Pedro Pascal, Catherine O’Hara, Bill Nighy, Kit Connor, Stephanie Hsu, Mark Hamill, Matt Berry and Ving Rhames.

Did You Know

The Wild Robot isn’t an original movie concept created specifically for DreamWorks. It is based on Peter Brown’s 2016 illustrated book of the same name, which became a #1 New York Times bestseller. One lesser-known detail is that the book’s success eventually expanded into a trilogy, giving Roz’s story a much larger literary world beyond the movie.
